TL;DR
This paper models the total cross sections of radiative neutron capture on 14C and 14N using a potential cluster model, successfully matching experimental data across a wide energy range from 10 meV to 1 MeV.
Contribution
It introduces a potential cluster model with forbidden states and Young scheme classification to accurately describe neutron capture cross sections.
Findings
Model reproduces experimental cross sections from 10 meV to 1 MeV.
Potential construction methods are effective for describing neutron capture.
The approach aligns well with observed data across a broad energy spectrum.
Abstract
The possibility of description of the experimental data on total cross sections of the radiative neutron capture on 14C and 14N is considered within the frame of the potential cluster model with forbidden states and their classification according to Young schemes. It is shown that the using model and the potential construction methods allow to reproduce correctly the behavior of experimental cross sections at the energies from 10 meV (0.01 eV) to 1 MeV.
