Theory of the electromagnetic production of hyperons
Petr Bydzovsky, Dalibor Skoupil

TL;DR
This paper compares various isobar models and a hybrid Regge-plus-resonance model for electromagnetic hyperon production, analyzing their predictions against experimental data for kaon photoproduction on protons and deuterons.
Contribution
It provides a comparative analysis of isobar models and the Regge-plus-resonance model for hyperon production, highlighting their predictive differences and agreements with experimental data.
Findings
Isobar models show varying degrees of agreement with experimental data.
The Regge-plus-resonance model offers a different perspective on hyperon production.
Comparison helps identify strengths and limitations of each modeling approach.
Abstract
Some basic properties of isobar models are discussed using the Saclay-Lyon, Kaon-MAID, and H2 models and a comparison of their predictions with experimental data is given for photo- and electroproduction of on the proton and for photoproduction of on the deuteron in specific kinematical regions. Results of the isobar models are also compared with the Regge-isobar hybrid model, Regge-plus-resonance.
