A Sharp Upper Bound for Region Unknotting Number of Torus Knots
Vikash Siwach, Madeti Prabhakar

TL;DR
This paper establishes a precise upper limit on the number of region crossing changes needed to unknot certain torus knots and links, advancing understanding of their unknotting properties.
Contribution
It provides a sharp upper bound on the region unknotting number for a broad class of torus knots and links, and discusses conditions for torus links to be proper.
Findings
Derived a sharp upper bound for region unknotting number
Identified conditions for torus links to be proper
Enhanced understanding of unknotting operations for torus knots
Abstract
Region crossing change for a knot or a proper link is an unknotting operation. In this paper, we provide a sharp upper bound on the region unknotting number for a large class of torus knots and proper links. Also, we discuss conditions on torus links to be proper.
