Evidence for a narrow $D_{03}$ state in $K^- p \rightarrow \eta \Lambda$ near threshold
Bo-Chao Liu, Ju-Jun Xie

TL;DR
This paper provides evidence for a narrow $D_{03}$ resonance near 1668.5 MeV in the $K^- p o \eta \Lambda$ reaction, supported by angular distribution and polarization data, suggesting a new resonance distinct from known states.
Contribution
The study introduces the possible existence of a narrow $D_{03}$ resonance in the reaction, supported by polarization data, which is a novel finding compared to previous models.
Findings
The narrow $D_{03}$ state is compatible with current polarization data.
More precise polarization measurements can further confirm this resonance.
The role of $ ext{Lambda}(1690)$ in the reaction is also analyzed.
Abstract
Recently, we reported a theoretical study on the reaction near threshold by using an effective Lagrangian approach. It was found that the description of angular distribution data measured by the Crystal Ball Collaboration needs a resonance with mass MeV and total decay width MeV, which is not the conventional (1690) or other state listed in the Particle Data Group book. In the present work, we study the polarization in the reaction within the same framework. The results show that the existence of this narrow state is also compatible with current polarization data and that the more accurate polarization data at MeV can offer further evidence for the existence of this resonance. Furthermore, the role of the …
