Gauge cooling in complex Langevin for QCD with heavy quarks
Erhard Seiler, D\'enes Sexty, Ion-Olimpiu Stamatescu

TL;DR
This paper introduces gauge cooling to stabilize complex Langevin simulations of QCD with heavy quarks, enabling exploration of high-density regimes previously inaccessible, with results validated against reweighting methods.
Contribution
The paper presents a novel gauge cooling technique that improves the stability of complex Langevin simulations in QCD with heavy quarks, expanding the accessible parameter space.
Findings
Gauge cooling stabilizes complex Langevin simulations.
Results agree with reweighting within estimated errors.
High-density QCD regimes are now accessible.
Abstract
We employ a new method, "gauge cooling", to stabilize complex Langevin simulations of QCD with heavy quarks. The results are checked against results obtained with reweigthing; we find agreement within the estimated errors. The method allows us to go to previously unaccessible high densities.
