Realization of 2-channel Kondo effect in a junction of three quantum Ising chains
A. M. Tsvelik

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that a junction of three quantum Ising chains can realize the 2-channel Kondo effect, with a localized spin formed by boundary Majorana modes, linking quantum spin chains to Kondo physics.
Contribution
It introduces a model where a three-chain Ising junction mimics the 2-channel Kondo effect using boundary Majorana modes.
Findings
The junction acts as a 2-channel Kondo system.
A localized spin S=1/2 is formed at the junction.
The system size is comparable to the Ising correlation length.
Abstract
It is shown that a junction of three quantum Ising chains (-junction) can be described as the 2-channel Kondo model in a box which size is of the order of the Ising model correlation length with spin S=1/2 localized at the junction. The local spin is composed of the zero energy boundary Majorana modes of the Ising models.
