Exclusive Double Diffractive Events: general framework and prospects
R. A. Ryutin

TL;DR
This paper develops a comprehensive theoretical framework for exclusive double diffractive events (EDDE) in proton-proton interactions, analyzing their properties and providing cross-section calculations relevant for Tevatron and LHC energies.
Contribution
It introduces a general model for EDDE, including kinematics, dynamics, and normalization, with specific calculations using a three-pomeron model for high-energy collisions.
Findings
Detailed properties of EDDE processes are characterized.
Cross-section predictions for Tevatron and LHC energies are provided.
Normalization using standard processes like EVMP is established.
Abstract
We consider the general theoretical framework to study exclusive double diffractive events (EDDE). It is a powerful tool to study the picture of the interaction. Basic kinematical and dynamical properties of the process, and also normalization of parameters via standard processes like the exclusive vector meson production (EVMP), are considered in detail. As an example, calculations of the cross-sections in the model with three pomerons for the process are presented for Tevatron and LHC energies.
