The Tippe Top Dynamics: The Comparison of Friction Models
V.V. Sidorenko, S.A. Skorokhod

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the dynamics of the tippe top using a simplified model, deriving averaged equations, performing qualitative analysis, and presenting numerical results to understand its motion.
Contribution
It introduces an averaged system of equations for the tippe top and compares different friction models to analyze its motion.
Findings
General features of tippe top motion identified
Qualitative analysis reveals key dynamical behaviors
Numerical results support theoretical insights
Abstract
The simple realistic model of the tippe top is considered. An averaged system of equations of motion is obtained in special evolutionary variables. Through the qualitative analysis of this system the general features of the motion of the top are obtained. Finally, some numerical results are presented.
