Uncovering hidden macromolecular dynamics with Modulated Orientation Sensitive Terahertz Spectroscopy
Rohit Singh, Deepu Koshy George, Andrea Markelz

TL;DR
This paper presents MOSTS, a novel terahertz spectroscopy technique that enhances mode contrast and background removal, enabling detailed analysis of large macromolecules like proteins.
Contribution
MOSTS is a new spectroscopy method that improves mode detection and background suppression for large biomolecules.
Findings
Enhanced contrast between adjacent modes.
Effective removal of broad band librational background.
Facilitates mode identification in proteins.
Abstract
We introduce Modulated Orientation Sensitive Terahertz Spectroscopy (MOSTS) that can both increase contrast between adjacent modes and remove the broad band librational background to allow mode identification for large macro molecules such as proteins.
