TL;DR
This paper reports on the production rates of pions, kaons, and protons at high transverse momentum in Pb-Pb collisions at 2.76 TeV, analyzing how nuclear modification varies with collision centrality and pT.
Contribution
It provides new measurements of particle production and nuclear modification factors at high pT in heavy-ion collisions at LHC energies.
Findings
Nuclear modification factor RAA varies with centrality and pT.
Charged pion, kaon, and proton yields are quantified at high pT.
Insights into parton energy loss mechanisms in quark-gluon plasma.
Abstract
In this work we report on the production of charged pions, kaons, and (anti) protons in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at sqrt{s_NN}= 2.76 TeV for 3 < pT < 20 GeV/c. The evolution of the nuclear modification factor, RAA, with collision centrality and transverse momentum is discussed.
