Angular correlations in the double Drell-Yan process
Tomas Kasemets, Markus Diehl

TL;DR
This paper investigates how parton correlations, especially spin correlations, influence the rate and angular distributions in double Drell-Yan processes, revealing their significance in proton-proton collisions.
Contribution
It demonstrates the impact of parton spin correlations on the double Drell-Yan process, highlighting their effect on production rates and angular decay patterns.
Findings
Spin correlations alter the overall production rate.
Spin correlations induce specific angular correlations.
Parton correlations are crucial for accurate predictions.
Abstract
We study the impact of parton correlations on the double Drell-Yan process, i.e. on the production of two electroweak gauge bosons by double parton scattering in a single proton-proton collision. Spin correlations between two partons in a proton are shown to change the overall rate of the process and to induce characteristic angular correlations between the decay leptons of the two gauge bosons.
