TL;DR
This paper provides supplementary numerical, theoretical, and experimental insights into the finite-size effects on the interfacial stiffness of rough elastic contacts, enhancing understanding through detailed simulations, derivations, and new experiments.
Contribution
It introduces new numerical simulations, analytical derivations, and experimental data to better understand finite-size effects in rough elastic contact stiffness.
Findings
Numerical simulations support the analytical theory.
Unpublished experiments reveal contact stiffness behavior.
Prefactors in the analytical model are explicitly derived.
Abstract
In this supplementary materials section, we provide (i) additional information on the numerical simulations of the main work, (ii) the derivation of all prefactors in the analytical theory, and (iii) unpublished experiments of the contact stiffness of a polymer pressed against a rough substrate.
