Measurements of the electron-positron continuum in ALICE
Christoph Baumann (for the ALICE Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports on the analysis of electron-positron pairs measured by ALICE in proton-proton and lead-lead collisions at high energies, discussing key challenges and presenting initial invariant mass spectra.
Contribution
It provides the first analysis of electron-positron continuum in ALICE for both pp and Pb-Pb collisions at LHC energies, highlighting analysis challenges and presenting preliminary spectra.
Findings
Initial invariant mass spectra for both collision systems
Discussion of analysis challenges and key questions
Baseline data for future detailed studies
Abstract
The status of the analysis of electron-positron pairs measured by ALICE in pp collisions at TeV and central Pb-Pb collisions at TeV is presented. Key questions and the main challenges of the analysis are discussed on the basis of first raw invariant mass spectra for both collision systems.
