Transverse momentum broadening and gauge invariance
Antonio Vairo

TL;DR
This paper introduces a gauge-invariant way to define the transverse momentum broadening of energetic quarks in a medium, which is crucial for understanding jet quenching in high-energy physics.
Contribution
It provides the first gauge-invariant definition of the transverse momentum broadening probability and the jet quenching parameter within the soft-collinear effective theory framework.

Abstract
In the framework of the soft-collinear effective theory, we present a gauge invariant definition of the transverse momentum broadening probability of a highly-energetic collinear quark in a medium and consequently of the jet quenching parameter .
