Pion production by neutrinos in the delta resonance region and possible application to CP searches
E. A. Paschos, Dario Schalla

TL;DR
This paper provides detailed calculations of neutrino and antineutrino pion production cross sections in the delta resonance region, including nuclear effects, to aid long baseline experiments in CP violation searches.
Contribution
It offers new differential cross section calculations with nuclear corrections relevant for neutrino oscillation experiments and explores charge symmetry relations in the delta resonance region.
Findings
Differential cross sections for neutrino-induced pion production are provided.
Nuclear corrections significantly affect the cross section calculations.
Charge symmetry relations hold in extended kinematic regions for isoscalar targets.
Abstract
We present the results of extensive calculations for charged and neutral current reactions of neutrinos and antineutrinos in the small region. The results include single and double differential cross sections at energies relevant for oscillation experiments. We include nuclear corrections in the Adler-Nussinov-Paschos model and point out that on isoscalar nuclear targets there are charge symmetry relations that hold in extended kinematic regions. We discuss how the results can be used in long baseline experiments in order to study oscillation parameters and search for CP asymmetries.
