Incomplete Information in RDF
Charalampos Nikolaou, Manolis Koubarakis

TL;DR
This paper introduces RDFi, an extension of RDF that allows representing unknown or partially known property values using constraints, and studies its semantics and query evaluation.
Contribution
It develops a formal semantics for RDFi incorporating incomplete information and analyzes how SPARQL queries operate within this framework.
Findings
RDFi can represent incomplete property information effectively.
The semantics for RDFi are formally defined and consistent.
Query evaluation in RDFi is analyzed with respect to incomplete data.
Abstract
We extend RDF with the ability to represent property values that exist, but are unknown or partially known, using constraints. Following ideas from the incomplete information literature, we develop a semantics for this extension of RDF, called RDFi, and study SPARQL query evaluation in this framework.
