TL;DR
This paper provides a historical overview of the evolution of space-time geometries from Euclidean-Newtonian to Minkowskian and Pseudoriemannian, highlighting key conceptual shifts leading to General Relativity.
Contribution
It offers a historical perspective on the transition of space-time geometries, emphasizing the conceptual developments from classical to modern physics.
Findings
Historical analysis of geometric transitions
Clarification of the conceptual evolution in physics
Highlights the role of Minkowskian geometry
Abstract
The present short essay, of essentially historical nature, aims at describing the transition from the Euclidean-Newtonian space-time geometry of Classical Physics to the Pseudoriemannian geometry of General Relativity, including the Minkowskian geometry of Special Relativity as an intermediate step.
