Electromagnetic properties of baryon resonances
Lothar Tiator

TL;DR
This paper analyzes electromagnetic transition form factors of nucleon resonances using high-quality experimental data, and demonstrates how these form factors can be used to derive empirical transverse charge densities with visual contour plots.
Contribution
It provides new empirical transition form factors for nucleon resonances and illustrates their application in visualizing transverse charge densities.
Findings
Transition form factors obtained from multiple experimental facilities.
Contour plots of charge densities for Roper and S11 resonances.
Enhanced understanding of nucleon resonance structure.
Abstract
Longitudinal and transverse transition form factors for most of the four-star nucleon resonances have been obtained from high-quality cross section data and polarization observables measured at MAMI, ELSA, BATES, GRAAL and CEBAF. As an application, we further show how the transition form factors can be used to obtain empirical transverse charge densities. Contour plots of the thus derived densities are shown and compared for the Roper and S11 nucleon resonances.
