TL;DR
This paper reviews the history and current status of fits to light WIMP dark matter candidates, analyzing their compatibility with experimental signals and bounds, including dark halo independent data comparisons.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of light WIMP fits and introduces dark halo independent data analysis methods.
Findings
Light WIMP parameter space remains viable under certain conditions.
Compatibility between signals and bounds varies across experiments.
Dark halo independent analyses offer robust cross-checks.
Abstract
We review fits to "light WIMPs" since the region was first mentioned relative to the DAMA collaboration data in 2003 to the present, analyzing the compatibility of potential signals and bounds in this region. We include dark halo independent data comparisons.
