The di-lepton physics program at STAR
Lijuan Ruan (for the STAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports recent di-electron production results at STAR in proton-proton and gold-gold collisions, compares data with simulations, and discusses future measurements and detector upgrades.
Contribution
It provides new measurements of di-electron production at 200 GeV and discusses future experimental prospects and detector improvements.
Findings
Comparison of data with cocktail simulations shows agreement and discrepancies.
Results highlight the potential for future di-lepton measurements at lower energies.
Discussion of detector upgrades aims to enhance measurement capabilities.
Abstract
The recent results on di-electron production in and Au+Au collisions at GeV are presented. The cocktail simulations of di-electrons from light and heavy flavor hadron decays are reported and compared with data. The perspectives for di-lepton measurements in lower energy Au+Au collisions and with future detector upgrades are discussed.
