Charged Higgs bosons in single top production at the LHC
Renato Guedes, Stefano Moretti, Rui Santos

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that single top production at the LHC can be used to detect light charged Higgs bosons decaying to tau neutrinos, providing a complementary search channel to top pair production.
Contribution
It introduces a novel method for charged Higgs detection via single top production at the LHC, applicable to MSSM and 2HDMs, especially at 14 TeV energies.
Findings
Charged Higgs signals can be observed in single top production at the LHC.
Detection is feasible with high energies and luminosities at 14 TeV.
This method complements existing searches from top pair production.
Abstract
We show that a light charged Higgs boson signal via decay can be established at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) also in the case of single top production. This process complements searches for the same signal in the case of charged Higgs bosons emerging from production. The models accessible include the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) as well a variety of 2-Higgs Doublet Models (2HDMs). High energies and luminosities are however required, thereby restricting interest on this mode to the case of the LHC running at 14 TeV with design configuration.
