TL;DR
This paper predicts a new incompressible fractional quantum Hall state at filling factor 3/8, arising from chiral p-wave pairing of spin-polarized composite fermions, specifically of the Anti-Pfaffian type.
Contribution
It introduces the possibility of an Anti-Pfaffian paired state at 3/8, expanding understanding of fractional quantum Hall states and pairing mechanisms.
Findings
Predicts an incompressible state at ν=3/8 due to composite fermion pairing
Suggests the pairing is of the Anti-Pfaffian type
Discusses potential experimental signatures
Abstract
We predict that an incompressible fractional quantum Hall state is likely to form at as a result of a chiral p-wave pairing of fully spin polarized composite fermions carrying four quantized vortices, and that the pairing is of the Anti-Pfaffian kind. Possible experimental ramifications are discussed.
