MHD simulations of the solar photosphere
M. Rieutord, F. Rincon, T. Roudier

TL;DR
This paper reviews solar photosphere observations and discusses magnetohydrodynamic modeling efforts, focusing on unresolved issues like the origin of supergranulation in the Sun.
Contribution
It provides a concise overview of observational data and current modeling challenges in solar photosphere magnetohydrodynamics, highlighting open questions.
Findings
Identification of key open questions in photospheric MHD.
Discussion of current modeling approaches and their limitations.
Emphasis on the need for further research into supergranulation origin.
Abstract
We briefly review the observations of the solar photosphere and pinpoint some open questions related to the magnetohydrodynamics of this layer of the Sun. We then discuss the current modelling efforts, addressing among other problems, that of the origin of supergranulation.
