Closed string field theory in a-gauge
Masako Asano, Mitsuhiro Kato

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that the a-gauge, previously used in open string field theory, can be consistently applied to closed string field theory, allowing systematic derivation of gauge-fixed actions for massless fields.
Contribution
It extends the a-gauge framework from open to closed string field theory, enabling covariant gauge fixing and systematic derivation of actions for massless fields.
Findings
A-gauge is applicable to closed string field theory.
Covariantly gauge-fixed actions for massless fields are derived.
The approach ensures consistency in gauge fixing for closed strings.
Abstract
We show that a-gauge, a class of covariant gauges developed for bosonic open string field theory, is consistently applied to the closed string field theory. A covariantly gauge-fixed action of massless fields can be systematically derived from a-gauge-fixed action of string field theory.
