Measurement of CP Asymmetries and Branching Fractions in Charmless Two-Body B-Meson Decays to Pions and Kaons
The BABAR Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of CP asymmetries and branching fractions in specific B-meson decays, providing evidence for CP violation and constraining the Unitarity Triangle angle alpha using data from the BABAR experiment.
Contribution
First detailed measurements of CP violation parameters and branching fractions in charmless two-body B-meson decays using the full BABAR dataset, improving precision and constraining the CKM angle alpha.
Findings
CP violation observed with over 6 sigma significance in B0 to pi+ pi- and K+ pi- decays.
Measured branching fractions for B0 to pi0 pi0 and K0 pi0 decays.
Constraints on the CKM angle alpha within [71°, 109°] at 68% confidence level.
Abstract
We present improved measurements of CP-violation parameters in the decays , , and , and of the branching fractions for and . The results are obtained with the full data set collected at the resonance by the BABAR experiment at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy factory at the SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, corresponding to million pairs. We find the CP-violation parameter values and branching fractions where in each case, the first…
