Charmonium production in pp collisions with ALICE
Ionut Arsene (for the ALICE Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports on measurements of J/psi meson production in proton-proton collisions at different energies and rapidities, including cross-sections, polarization, and a new correlation with charged particle multiplicity, providing insights into charmonium production mechanisms.
Contribution
It presents new measurements of J/psi production cross-sections, polarization, and a novel correlation with charged particle multiplicity in pp collisions at LHC energies.
Findings
J/psi production cross-sections as functions of energy, rapidity, and transverse momentum.
Measurements of J/psi polarization in different frames.
Observation of a correlation between charged particle multiplicity and J/psi yield.
Abstract
The ALICE Collaboration studies the production of J/psi meson in pp collisions at the center-of-mass energies of 2.76 and 7 TeV at mid- and forward-rapidity. Inclusive production cross-sections are presented as a function of the collision energy, rapidity and transverse-momentum. The J/psi polarization measurements in the helicity and Collins-Soper frames are discussed. A novel result on the correlation between the collision charged particle multiplicity and J/psi yield is also shown.
