TL;DR
This paper introduces a method using canonical transformations to implement the background field approach in gauge theories, with applications to non-perturbative techniques and lattice gauge theory.
Contribution
It presents a novel way to incorporate the background field method via canonical transformations, enhancing non-perturbative analysis in gauge theories.
Findings
Canonical transformations effectively implement the background field method.
Application to non-Abelian gauge theories and lattice formulations.
Potential improvements in non-perturbative techniques.
Abstract
We show how to implement the background field method by means of canonical transformations and comment on the applications of the method to non-perturbative techniques in non-Abelian gauge theories. We discuss the case of the lattice in some details.
