Pei-Ming Ho, Chen-Te Ma, Chi-Hsien Yeh

TL;DR
This paper investigates BPS solutions of M5-branes in a large C-field background, revealing how the C-field influences interactions via Nambu-Poisson structures and exploring various BPS states including M-waves and self-dual strings.
Contribution
It provides a detailed analysis of BPS states on M5-branes in large C-field backgrounds, highlighting the role of Nambu-Poisson structures in these interactions.
Findings
Characterization of BPS states such as M-waves and self-dual strings.
Demonstration of the influence of C-field on M5-brane interactions.
Identification of new configurations like tilted M5-branes and intersecting M5-branes.
Abstract
We extensively study BPS solutions of the low energy effective theory of M5-brane in large C-field background. This provides us an opportunity to explore the interactions turned on by C-field background through the Nambu-Poisson structure. The BPS states considered in this paper include the M-waves, the self-dual string (M2 ending on M5), tilted M5-brane, holomorphic embedding of M5-brane and the intersection of two M5-branes along a 3-brane.
