TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that quantum decoherence can occur without energy dissipation, challenging common assumptions and providing insights relevant to the black hole information paradox.
Contribution
It introduces a simple model illustrating energy-conserving decoherence, highlighting a less understood aspect of quantum decoherence phenomena.
Findings
Decoherence can happen without energy loss.
Energy conservation does not prevent quantum decoherence.
Implications for black hole information problem.
Abstract
That decoherence can take place in the presence of energy conservation seems to be a poorly known fact. That lack of knowledge has for example bedevilled the discussion of the "black hole information" problem. I present a simple model which illustrates such energy free decoherence.
