Ehsan Hatefi, I. Y. Park

TL;DR
This paper uncovers a universal pattern in all-order $\alpha'$ corrections to BPS and non-BPS brane world volume theories, providing explicit string amplitude calculations and matching with SYM vertices.
Contribution
It demonstrates a universal structure in higher derivative corrections for BPS and non-BPS branes, supported by explicit amplitude computations and pole/contact term analysis.
Findings
Universal all-$\alpha'$ order corrections identified.
Explicit string amplitude calculations match SYM predictions.
Reproduction of contact terms and massless poles from universality.
Abstract
Knowledge of all- higher derivative corrections to leading order BPS and non-BPS brane actions would serve in future endeavor of determining the complete form of the non-abelian BPS and tachyonic effective actions. In this paper, we note that there is a universality in the all- order corrections to BPS and non-BPS branes. We compute amplitudes between one Ramond-Ramond -field vertex operator and several SYM gauge/scalar vertex operators. Specifically, we evaluate in closed form string correlators of two-point amplitudes , , a three-point amplitude and a four-point amplitude . We carry out pole and contact term analysis. In particular we reproduce some of the contact terms and the infinite massless poles of by SYM vertices obtained through the universality.
