V. Balandin, R. Brinkmann, W. Decking, N. Golubeva

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel straight drift-quadrupole beamline design that preserves specific beam ellipses by eliminating second and third order aberrations, enhancing beam transport precision.
Contribution
The paper presents a new beamline design that achieves apochromatic transport of beam ellipses by canceling second and third order aberrations, a significant advancement in beam optics.
Findings
Successful design of a drift-quadrupole system with aberration-free beam transport
Elimination of second and third order chromatic and geometric aberrations
Potential improvements in beamline performance and accuracy
Abstract
In this paper we present the design of a straight drift-quadrupole system which can transport certain beam ellipses (apochromatic beam ellipses) without influence of the second and of the third order chromatic and geometric aberrations of the beamline transfer map.
