A Morphism Double Category and Monoidal Structure
Saikat Chatterjee, Amitabha Lahiri, and Ambar N. Sengupta

TL;DR
This paper constructs a double category from a modified version of a given category, inspired by parallel transport, and explores monoidal structures on both the original and the modified categories.
Contribution
It introduces a novel double category construction based on a 'fattened' category and analyzes monoidal structures within this framework.
Findings
Double category constructed from a fattened category
Analysis of monoidal structures on original and fattened categories
Motivated by parallel transport context
Abstract
A double category is constructed from a `fattened' version of a given category, motivated in part by a context of parallel transport. We also study monoidal structures on the underlying category and on the fattened category.
