Gravitational Field Inside and Near a Caustic Ring
Heywood Tam

TL;DR
This paper provides an analytic calculation of the gravitational field around dark matter caustic rings, aiding simulations of their influence on galaxy formation.
Contribution
It introduces an analytic method to compute gravitational fields near dark matter caustics, which was previously challenging.
Findings
Analytic expressions for gravitational fields near caustic rings
Potential improvements for N-body simulation accuracy
Insights into dark matter distribution effects
Abstract
We present an analytic calculation of the gravitational field inside and near a caustic ring of dark matter. The calculation may facilitate N-body simulation studies on the effects that dark matter caustics have on galaxy formation.
