Mass spectra in N=1 SQCD with additional fields. I
Victor L. Chernyak

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the mass spectra of N=1 SQCD-like theories with additional fields and their duals, revealing conditions under which heavy fields become light and exploring interrelations between different supersymmetric theories.
Contribution
It provides detailed calculations of mass spectra in SQCD-like theories with additional fields and establishes conditions for their equivalence with related N=2 theories.
Findings
Heavy fields can become light under certain conditions.
Mass spectra depend on the ratio mma_{Phi}/Lambda.
Interrelations between N=1 and N=2 theories are clarified.
Abstract
Considered is the N=1 SQCD-like theory with SU(N_c) colors and 0<N_F<2N_c flavors of light quarks Q_i,\bar Q_j and with the additional N^2_F colorless flavored fields Phi_{ij} with the large mass parameter \mu_{Phi}>>Lambda. The mass spectra of this Phi-theory (and its dual variant, the dPhi-theory) are calculated at different values of \mu_{Phi}/Lambda >>1 within the dynamical scenario which implies the (quasi)spontaneous breaking of chiral symmetry. It is shown that, under appropriate conditions, the seemingly heavy and dynamically irrelevant fields Phi 'return back' and there appear two additional generations of light Phi-particles with small masses \mu(Phi)<<Lambda. Also considered is the X-theory which is the N=2 SQCD with SU(N_c) colors and 0<N_F<2N_c flavors of light quarks, broken down to N=1 by the large mass parameter of the adjoint scalar field X, \mu_X>>Lambda_2. The tight…
