TL;DR
This paper investigates hadron spectra in SU(N) gauge theories for N=3, 5, 7 using lattice QCD, revealing N-independence in meson spectra and rotor-like baryon excitations.
Contribution
It provides the first lattice results for baryon spectra in SU(N) with N>3, demonstrating N-scaling behaviors and excitation patterns.
Findings
Meson spectra are independent of N.
Vacuum-to-hadron matrix elements scale as √N.
Baryon spectra exhibit rigid rotor excitation levels.
Abstract
Results are presented for hadron spectroscopy with gauge groups SU(N) with N=3, 5, 7. Calculations use the quenched approximation. Lattice spacings are matched using the static potential. Meson spectra show independence on N and vacuum-to-hadron matrix elements scale as the square root of N. The baryon spectrum shows the excitation levels of a rigid rotor.
