Hai-Yang Cheng, C.Q. Geng, Y.K. Hsiao

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the invariant mass spectrum in a B meson decay, identifying known charmed baryons and proposing a new resonance at 3212 MeV to explain the data.
Contribution
It introduces evidence for a new charmed baryon resonance in B decay data, expanding the understanding of charmed baryon states.
Findings
Identification of known $oldsymbol{ ext{Sigma}_c(2800)^+}$, $ ext{Lambda}_c(2880)^+$, and $ ext{Lambda}_c(2940)^+$ peaks.
Necessity of a new resonance at approximately 3212 MeV to fit the spectrum.
Proposed resonance has a width of about 167 MeV.
Abstract
We examine the invariant mass spectrum of in decay measured by BABAR and find that through the 2-step processes of , where denotes a charmed baryon state, some of the peaks can be identified with the established , and . Moreover, in order to account for the measured spectrum, it is necessary to introduce a new charmed baryon resonance with MeV.
