Leptogenesis in models with keV sterile neutrino dark matter
F. Bezrukov, A. Kartavtsev, M. Lindner

TL;DR
This paper demonstrates that in gauge extensions of the Standard Model, keV sterile neutrino dark matter and the Universe's baryon asymmetry can be simultaneously generated through the out-of-equilibrium decays of a heavy right-handed neutrino.
Contribution
It shows a unified mechanism for dark matter and baryogenesis in models with keV sterile neutrinos and heavy right-handed neutrinos.
Findings
Dark matter abundance can match observations.
Baryon asymmetry can be generated correctly.
Both phenomena are linked to the same decay process.
Abstract
We analyze leptogenesis in gauge extensions of the Standard Model with keV sterile neutrino dark matter. We find that both the observed dark matter abundance and the correct baryon asymmetry of the Universe can simultaneously emerge in these models. Both the dark matter abundance and the leptogenesis are controlled by the out of equilibrium decays of the same heavy right handed neutrino.
