Charged hanging chain - catenary exposed to force
Klaus Morawetz

TL;DR
This paper introduces a novel solution for the charged catenary problem, enabling the determination of stability conditions for charged liquid bridges and hanging robes, with implications for understanding electrostatic effects in flexible structures.
Contribution
It provides the first analytical solution for the charged catenary, advancing the understanding of electrostatic influences on the stability of hanging chains.
Findings
Derived stability conditions for charged liquid bridges
Identified parameters affecting electrostatic stability
Enhanced theoretical understanding of charged flexible structures
Abstract
A new solution of a charged catenary is presented which allows to determine the static stability conditions where charged liquid bridges or charged hanging robes are possible.
