Two-Layer Quantum Key Distribution
Rubens Viana Ramos

TL;DR
This paper formalizes a two-layer quantum key distribution protocol using coherent and thermal states, analyzing its security against common attacks to enhance quantum communication robustness.
Contribution
It introduces a formal framework for the two-layer QKD protocol and evaluates its security against prevalent attack strategies.
Findings
Protocol is secure against external control attacks
Protocol resists Trojan horse attack strategies
Provides a foundation for robust quantum key distribution
Abstract
Recently a new quantum key distribution protocol using coherent and thermal states was proposed. In this work this kind of two-layer QKD protocol is formalized and its security against the most common attacks, including external control and Trojan horse attacks, is discussed.
