TL;DR
SimProp is a new Monte Carlo simulation tool designed to model the propagation of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays, validated against existing methods and compared with recent observational data.
Contribution
It introduces a novel Monte Carlo code for cosmic ray propagation and demonstrates its accuracy through comparisons with other models and observational flux data.
Findings
Consistent results with other Monte Carlo simulations
Agreement with kinetic equation solutions
Comparison with Pierre Auger flux data
Abstract
A new Monte Carlo simulation code for the propagation of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays is presented. The results of this simulation scheme are tested by comparison with results of another Monte Carlo computation as well as with the results obtained by directly solving the kinetic equation for the propagation of Ultra High Energy Cosmic Rays. A short comparison with the latest flux published by the Pierre Auger collaboration is also presented.
