TL;DR
This paper presents theoretical predictions for the production of $J/ar{c}$ mesons and open charm pairs at the LHC, considering single and double parton scattering, and compares these with recent experimental data.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive theoretical analysis of associated $J/ar{c}$ and open charm production, including both scattering mechanisms and detector kinematic effects.
Findings
Predictions align with experimental data within LHCb kinematic limits.
Both single and double parton scattering mechanisms are significant.
The study enhances understanding of charm production processes at the LHC.
Abstract
Theoretical predictions of cross sections and properties of the -meson production in association with an open charm hadron and formation of two open charm hadrons from two pairs in the LHC conditions are presented. Processes in both single and in double parton scattering mechanisms are included into consideration. Special attention is paid to the kinematic limits of the LHCb detector for which comparison with the newest experimental data is carried out.
