TL;DR
This paper reports evidence of CP violation in the decay of D+ mesons to K0_S pi+ using a large data sample, with a measured asymmetry significantly different from zero, consistent with neutral kaon effects.
Contribution
It provides the first evidence of CP violation in D+ meson decay with a precise measurement using Belle data.
Findings
CP asymmetry measured at -0.363% with statistical and systematic uncertainties.
The asymmetry is 3.2 standard deviations away from zero.
Results align with expectations from neutral kaon-induced CP violation.
Abstract
We observe evidence for CP violation in the decay using a data sample with an integrated luminosity of 977 fb collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider. The CP asymmetry in the decay is measured to be , which is 3.2 standard deviations away from zero, and is consistent with the expected CP violation due to the neutral kaon in the final state.
