Polarization Properties of the "Photon Pistol"
V. A. Reshetov

TL;DR
This paper investigates the polarization characteristics of photons emitted via STIRAP from atoms with degenerate levels, analyzing how laser polarization and atomic states influence photon polarization.
Contribution
It provides a new expression for the photon polarization matrix and explores its dependence on experimental parameters in the context of deterministic single-photon emission.
Findings
Derived an explicit formula for the photon polarization matrix.
Showed the polarization depends on laser and atomic initial states.
Analyzed the impact of different polarization configurations.
Abstract
The deterministic single-photon emission by means of STIRAP through the atoms with degenerate levels is studied. The expression for the polarization matrix of the emitted photon is obtained and its dependence on the polarization of the driving laser field and on the initial atomic state is examined.
