A. Alves, E. Ramirez Barreto, A. G. Dias

TL;DR
This paper explores the potential for detecting fermionic leptoquarks at the LHC through a distinctive signature involving a b-jet and same-sign dileptons, offering a new way to probe exotic quark models.
Contribution
It introduces a novel experimental signature for fermionic leptoquarks within the 3-3-1 model framework and discusses how existing LHC data could reveal these particles.
Findings
Potential to identify fermionic leptoquarks via b-jet plus same-sign dileptons
Existing LHC data may contain undiscovered signals of exotic quarks
Analysis can constrain or support the 3-3-1 model parameters
Abstract
Within the 3-3-1 model framework, we consider the production and decay of fermionic leptoquarks into a striking experimental signature at the LHC: a narrow resonance at the jet plus same-sign dileptons channel. The data already accumulated by the LHC collaborations may hide a large number of events associated to the production and decay of such exotic quarks, allowing one to investigate large portions of the parameters space of the model. The observation or not of such events would shed light on the construction of models presenting heavy exotic quarks.
