Contribution
It applies a relativistic mean field approach in coordinate space to neutron-rich helium isotopes and compares theoretical predictions with experimental measurements.
Findings
Calculated elastic scattering cross sections agree with experimental data.
Resonance energies in $^{5,7}$He match observed values.
Provides insights into structure of neutron-rich helium nuclei.
Abstract
Neutron rich He nuclei have been investigated using relativistic mean field approach in co-ordinate space. Elastic partial scattering cross sections for proton scattering in inverse kinematics have been calculated using the theoretically obtained density for He and compared with experiment. The energies of the low-lying resonance states in the neutron unstable nuclei He have also been calculated and compared with experimental observations.
