TL;DR
This paper reviews recent experimental progress in measuring the muon g-2, emphasizing improved hadronic cross section data and upcoming experiments like Fermilab's E989 aiming to refine the muon anomalous magnetic moment measurement.
Contribution
It provides an updated overview of experimental measurements and discusses the potential of new experiments to enhance the precision of muon g-2 evaluations.
Findings
Improved hadronic cross section measurements at low energy.
Upcoming E989 experiment aims to reduce uncertainty by a factor of 4.
Enhanced understanding of muon g-2 contributions.
Abstract
We review the latest experimental achievements on the hadronic cross section measurements at low energy which are of fundamental importance for a precise evaluation of the hadronic contribution to the g-2 of the muon. We also discuss the new proposed muon g-2 experiments, with particular emphasis on E989 at Fermilab which plans to improve the experimental uncertainty by a factor of 4 with respect to the previous E821 experiment at BNL
