Search for $WH$ associated production in $p \bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96\,{\rm TeV}$
D0 Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for associated W and Higgs boson production in proton-antiproton collisions at 1.96 TeV, setting upper limits on production rates relative to the Standard Model predictions.
Contribution
It introduces a multivariate technique to distinguish signal from background in W-Higgs associated production searches at the Tevatron.
Findings
Observed upper limit at 115 GeV is 4.5 times the Standard Model prediction.
Used data corresponding to 5.3 fb^{-1} collected with the D0 detector.
Set constraints on the Higgs production cross section in the W-Higgs channel.
Abstract
This report describes a search for associated production of and Higgs bosons based on data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of collected with the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. Events containing a candidate (with corresponding to or ) are selected in association with two or three reconstructed jets. One or two of the jets are required to be consistent with having evolved from a quark. A multivariate discriminant technique is used to improve the separation of signal and backgrounds. Expected and observed upper limits are obtained for the product of the production cross section and branching ratios and reported in terms of ratios relative to the prediction of the standard model as a function of the mass of the Higgs boson (). The observed and expected 95%…
