Mean Field Effect on J/\psi Production in Heavy Ion Collisions
Baoyi Chen, Kai Zhou, Pengfei Zhuang

TL;DR
This paper investigates how mean field effects in quark-gluon plasma influence J/ production in heavy ion collisions, revealing a significant enhancement at low transverse momentum due to reduced regeneration thresholds.
Contribution
It provides a perturbative calculation of mean field effects on J/ production within a transport model, highlighting their impact on low-momentum enhancement.
Findings
Global nuclear modification factor R_{AA} is insensitive to mean field effects.
Mean field effects significantly enhance J/ regeneration at low transverse momentum.
The enhancement is observed at RHIC and LHC energies.
Abstract
The mean field effect in quark-gluon plasma on J/\psi production in heavy ion collisions is perturbatively calculated in a transport approach. While the global nuclear modification factor R_{AA} is not sensitive to the mean field, the reduced threshold for J/\psi regeneration leads to a significant enhancement of R_{AA} at low transverse momentum at RHIC and LHC energies.
