TL;DR
This paper introduces a highly sensitive diffusion cloud chamber that operates without radioactive sources, utilizing a heat sink as its bottom plate, and demonstrates its performance through testing.
Contribution
The novel use of a heat sink as the bottom plate enhances the sensitivity of the cloud chamber without needing radioactive sources.
Findings
The chamber successfully detects particle tracks without radioactive sources.
Performance tests confirm the chamber's high sensitivity.
The design simplifies operation and safety compared to traditional chambers.
Abstract
We present a sensitive diffusion cloud chamber which does not require any radioactive sources. A major difference from a commonly used chamber is use of a heat sink as its bottom plate. A result of a performance test of the chamber is given.
