TL;DR
This paper proves the existence of closed orbits for real algebraic groups on specific spaces and demonstrates that unipotent subgroups of real reductive groups are conjugate to subgroups of a particular unipotent subgroup.
Contribution
It establishes the existence of closed orbits for real algebraic groups and shows conjugacy of unipotent subgroups within real reductive groups.
Findings
Existence of closed orbits for real algebraic groups.
Unipotent subgroups of real reductive groups are conjugate to subgroups of N.
Application of results to Iwasawa decomposition.
Abstract
The existence of closed orbits of real algebraic groups on certain real algebraic spaces is established. As an application it is shown that if is a real reductive group with Iwasawa decomposition , then all unipotent subgroups of are conjugate to a subgroup of .
